This extremely popular attraction operates from early spring through late fall. From mid-March to the end of the school year, weekends only. During the 2008 summer period, the tram will run on weekends ONLY. From the beginning of the school year to mid-November, the tram follows a weekend-only schedule. ---------------------------

The electric tram travels through the Great Eastern Hardwood Forest surrounding Lake
Redington. Starting from the National Wildlife Visitor Center, the tram progresses through several different types of habitats prompting discussion and interpretation of: the animal inhabitants of those habitats, how the habitats change, threats encountered by the animal life, wildlife conservation efforts conducted by the refuge, and research conducted by the
Patuxent Wildlife Research Center. The tour concludes back at the Visitor Center with a discussion of wildlife conservation efforts which can be pursued by everyone who is concerned about the future of wildlife on our
planet. |

Reservation Information: Tram operation
The tram may be reserved for a fee of $60 per tour ( 40 passengers). Cancellations must be made one week before the reservation date. If the tram is cancelled
by the center, a full refund will be provided. Check for available reservation times when you make the reservation.
